The Vimoutiers Tiger Today
This Tiger tank monument facing west is on the eastern exit road at Vimoutier. Panzers were used to keep open the German escape corridor from the Falaise Pocket (the "cauldron") in late August. The tank facing west is symbolic of its action. There are many Tigers in museums but only one or two are outdoor monuments in France.
