The London-Brussels World War 1 & 2 sites Tour June 11th-21st, 2010

June 11, Friday. Group arrives at London hotel for "Welcome" dinner and 5 night stay.

June 12th, Saturday. Morning guided London 3-4 hour bus tour. Visit Uxbridge RAF Control Center. Dinner hotel.  (Summer 1940, Germans were bombing England pre their planned invasion. At RAF Airfield Uxbridge a deep underground concrete bunker became the HQ for British fighter command to counterattack the German bombers. Now "as it was" war time museum.

June 13th, Sunday. Morning coach to Queen's Guards Museum (near Buckingham palace), Churchill War Rooms. Afternoon Imperial War Museum. Dinner/theatre on your own.

June 14th, Monday. Morning coach to Hendon Airfield "Battle of Britain" museum/aerodrome. Afternoon, our coach will take us to Bletchley Park museum (Ultra code breaking). Dinner hotel.

June 15th, Tuesday. Morning coach (2 hrs) to Duxford Airfield Museum (site of the Battle of Britain motion picture) then to Cambridge for a two hour guided walking tour. Return to London for dinner.

June 16th, Wednesday. Early AM train from London to Calais, France, via the chunnel. Meet coach at Calais and drive shirt distance west to Cap Griz Ney, Todt Battery museum (Huge batteries that shelled England from France) then east to the Dunkirk museum and British evacuation beach. Then to Ypres hotel for three nights. Dinner hotel.

June 17th, Thursday. Coach to St. Omer, Ypres, Passhendale, WW 1 battlefields. (Craters, tunnels, bunkers and trenches). Dinner hotel.

June 18th, Friday. Coach tour through the Ypres salient area, WW 1 battlefields. Dinner hotel

June 19th, Saturday. Coach to Mons, the Napoleonic-Wellington Waterloo battlefield and Brussels (2 nights). Personal shopping time. Hotel dinner.

June 20th, Sunday. City guide for 2-3 hr bus tour. Visit the Belgium Tank Museum. "Farewell" dinner on Boucher Street.

June 21st, Monday. Departures (a coach to airport provided)
